Some months ago i have installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my eee 1001px; all was right but the microphone didn’t work. Checking on the web, it seemed to be an annoying problem for many people.

Now the new Ubuntu is out and i didn’t tested the microphone on it yet, anyway i was able to find this quick fix for the 12.04. The fix is really quick and maybe it can be useful for someone, so this is it:

sudo apt-get install pavucontrol

this command install the GUI to set Pulse Audio . Now open a terminal and type:

pavucontrol

to open the GUI and set it like the following photo:

That is it! You can test your microphone using the Skype test call or the application you prefer. Enjoy!
